About Me

I am a father and journalist of, respectively, 22 and 32 years experience, still hoping to attain proficiency in both professions. I currently live on Islay, an island in the inner Hebrides, off the west coast of mainland Scotland.

Most of my career has been spent with international  news agency AFP, most recently in Rome and previously in Brussels, Hong Kong, London & Paris.

I’m a Scot, a politics and modern history graduate of Manchester University and I live with my partner Tissy, my two youngest sons, aged 5 and 7, a labrador called Lucy and a spaniel called Captain.
